Went to the kite festival again this year, really great.

With the recent security upheavels at our airports with the family in Italy we checked to see the status of their flight to get home the next day. It read as CANCELLED so we checked all the other flights to get them on the next available flight back which was 3 days later! We booked them on it and then just happened to double check their original flight the next day to find it had been reinstated?! The reason for this that the RyanAir site only gives details of flights for that day and inputting all your travel dates and flight numbers makes no difference, but it doesn't say that! You can have the details you put in on the same screen as the flight details for that day and it nowhere does it say that the flight is for that actual day. So we had paid for flights that we no longer needed and the family managed to get back on their original intended flight.
So, we wrote a long assertive letter (RyanAir are not famous for giving any refunds!) together with loads of printed evidence to support our case and were delighted to receive and Email about a week later to say they would be crediting our credit card with the FULL AMOUNT! Thank you! I was delighted that we finally had a positive outcome from a problem which took up HOURS of our time. It's a pity that more companies can't process outcomes as positively and efficiently as RyanAir!

Had a lovely time in Italy again this year.
